How It Works
psychosocialrecoverycoach.com.au connects you with a registered NDIS provider of psychosocial recovery coaching. You answer a few practical questions about the person and their plan, we pass your details to one suitable provider, and they contact you. It's free for you, and you're never locked in.
You Tell Us What's Needed
Who it's for, what they'd like help with, whether recovery coaching is in the plan, how it's managed, any preference for a lived experience coach, postcode, in person or online, and when. No diagnosis or clinical details.
We Find a Provider
We pass your details to one registered provider of recovery coaching who may have a coach with capacity, in your area or online.
A Provider Contacts You
They call or email to talk about what you'd like help with, their coaches and timing. Nothing is agreed until you've talked it through and you're happy.
What Happens to Your Details
We only pass your details to a registered NDIS provider of psychosocial recovery coaching who may be able to help. It goes to one provider at a time. If they can't help, we pass it to another, up to 3 in total, so you're not left waiting.
We ask for your consent first, because details about disability, mental health and support needs are sensitive. We don't ask about diagnosis. You can change your mind at any time by emailing hello@psychosocialrecoverycoach.com.au. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
How the Service Is Free
Providers pay us when we introduce them to someone looking for a recovery coach. That's how we keep the service free for participants, families and support coordinators.
It doesn't change what's charged to your plan. Recovery coaching prices are capped by the NDIS pricing schedule. We only work with providers who meet our standards.
What We Are, and What We're Not
We're an independent matching service. We don't employ recovery coaches, decide eligibility, give clinical advice or advice about your plan, and we're not a crisis service or part of the NDIA or the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. The provider you're connected with is responsible for the coaching and the service agreement.
Common Questions
How long does it take?
The questions take about two minutes. When a provider gets in touch depends on the provider, and we only pass your details to providers who may have a coach with capacity.
Can I choose my own recovery coach?
Yes. You're never locked in. Under the NDIS you choose your providers, and the NDIA suggests talking to two or more recovery coaches before you decide. If the fit isn't right, tell the provider or tell us and we'll look for another.
Will lots of providers call me?
No. Your details go to one provider at a time. We only pass them to another provider if the first one can't help.
Do you employ recovery coaches?
No. We don't employ coaches or give clinical advice. We pass what you need to registered providers of recovery coaching, who tell you about their coaches.
Can I ask you to delete my details?
Yes. Email us and we'll stop passing your details on and delete them, unless we have to keep something by law. See our privacy policy for how this works.
